Soon after she arrived in the US from Sierra Leone, mummy was diagnosed with Terminal Breast Cancer.  We understood the gravity of this diagnosis but hoped that she will miraculously win the fight. After all, she had already won many other health related battles from living with Sickle Cell Disease.  We prayed, sought medical advice and had a game plan to beat cancer.  This time however, victory came in the form of eternal peace for Enitan Christiana Metzger.

In her loving memory, our vision is that affliction by Breast Cancer or Sickle Cell will not be automatically deemed a terminal disease for people just because they live in Sierra Leone.

Our goals are:

  • To support ongoing community outreach and education programs that focus on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, treatments options once diagnosed and support for survivors.

  • To support ongoing community outreach and education programs that teach the importance of early testing for sickle cell as well as managing the disease once diagnosed.

  • To join forces with others and raise funds to support imminent goals of certified health care providers for Breast Cancer and Sickle Cell in Sierra Leone.
